Club History: Askern Welfare First Team were formed in 1924 and the Reserves 30 years later in 1954. The First team played in the Doncaster Red Triangle League before the Second World War and then the Doncaster Senior League in which they finished Runners Up in the Premier Division in the 1991/92 campaign before joining the Central Midlands League. Askern Welfare have won the Doncaster FA Challenge Cup ten times, most recently in 2000/01. They were also League Cup winners in 1999/2000. Askern Welfare won promotion to the Central Midlands Supreme Division in the 2002.
